What File Format does a Canon Vixia HF S100 use? I'm working in iMovie for editing?

I'm using iMovie for video editing and thinking about getting a Canon Vixia HF S100. I need to know what file format the video files will be, (MOV, AVI, etc.) and if it will be compatible with iMovie HD (06).
