Samsung BD-P1600 beeping sound after stopping a DVD?

I got a Samsung BD-P1600 Blu-ray player on Boxing Day...I popped in a DVD to play, but once I press stop, it makes this continuous annoying beeping sound. I called 1-800-SAMSUNG and the customer service rep says as long as it is playing, it's not a problem.
